babies, supervised by neonatology consultants.The Newborn Intensive Care Unit is making unremitting efforts to achieve
excellence in treating critical cases and providing advice to mothers before
birth when needed, as well as integrated care for newborns during birth and
after birth with full support for the family during admission until discharge.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit includes 8 newborn beds that receive Preterm
infants beyond 24 weeks or those who require intensive medical care and 20 beds
in the nursery department. The unit participates in all national programs,
including newborn metabolic screening, thyroid disease screening and hearing screening for newborns,The unit also
supports breast feeding as a basic right for mother and infant .The unit provides highest levels of medical
care according to evidence-based medicine. The care is based on a medical team
of doctors and nurses with a high degree of training as well as professional
competence.
