ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY

Orthopaedic surgery or orthopaedics, is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Orthopedic surgery includes  subspecialties as:

·         Hand and upper extremity

·         Shoulder and elbow

·         Total joint reconstruction (arthroplasty)

·         Pediatric orthopedics

·         Foot and ankle surgery

·         Spine surgery

·         Orthopedic oncologist

·         Surgical sports medicine

The department provides therapeutic services in relation to diseases of bones, joints, fractures and accidents including :

1.    Examination and treatment of bone disease and fractures in outpatient clinics and orthopedic ward .

2.    The orthopedists perform surgical operations per week using the latest technical methods, in addition to their surgical experience.

3.    The department collaborates with various departments of the hospital to develop the  medical services.
